Toronto is getting the world’s longest permanent rainbow road & here’s where

A new initiative is bringing the world’s longest permanent rainbow road to Toronto and here’s what to know.

Friends of Hanlan’s is the advocacy group that is bringing this Rainbow Road to life, along with the support of Skittles Canada, Pride Toronto and several more partners.

According to Friends of Hanlan’s, beach Road will undergo the transformation and will feature trans, black, and brown progress chevrons starting on each side.

This historic event is set to take place at 1 PM on Saturday, May 25.

The rainbow road is designed by award-winning queer artist Travis Myers. It spans an impressive 2,000 feet.

Dubbed “The Long Walk to Equality,” this vibrant installation will help push the importance of visibility and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community throughout the year.

Hanlan’s Point is Canada’s first Pride site and oldest queer space. And all are welcome to join in the festivities, alongside community leaders, drag queens, queer elders and key supporters.

Be part of history and head to the beach this weekend!
