Cheers to that! 17 Canadian beers named among the best in the world

Canada wins in almost everything, especially when it comes to craft beers. According to a new award, Canada has some of the best beers in the world. The world’s largest beer competition has revealed this year’s winners and over 15 Canadian breweries brought home awards.

The World Beer Cup is the absolute largest beer competition in the world, hosted by the Brewers Association (BA).

The not-for-profit trade association dedicates its work to small and independent American craft brewers. And this year, it honoured the best beers in 110 categories, featuring 172 different beer styles.

Yes, there are that many beer creations (in this competition anyway)

A panel of 280 judges from 37 countries evaluated 9,300 entries. There were 2,060 breweries across 50 nations, according to organizers.

“Each award represents not only exceptional quality but also innovation and creativity, driving the global craft beer industry forward,” said Chris Williams, World Beer Cup competition director.

“This year’s winners exemplify the spirit of craftsmanship and ingenuity and showcase the diverse flavors and techniques that make beer an art form. Congratulations to this year’s winners for their outstanding achievements in brewing.”

As for Canada, five breweries took home gold, nine took silver and three won bronze.

We had winners in the categories like American-Style Pilsener, Belgian-Style Blonde Ale, Historical beer and even Chocolate beer – the brainchild of Whistler Brewing Co.

Per province, British Columbia brought home four awards, three for Alberta, six for Ontario and four for Quebec.
