Well, believe it or not we are a few weeks away from spring. If you’re looking to end the winter season on a high note, you don’t want to miss the Winthrop Balloon Roundup.
The Winthrop Balloon Roundup takes place during the last few weeks of winter on March 1st-3rd, 2024.
It’s important to note that all events are weather permitting. Balloons fly each morning at 6:45 AM, based on weather conditions. These conditions cannot be predicted in advance and Winthrop has its own micro-climate due to its location at the base of the Cascades.

Balloons will stay in the air until about 9 AM each day, so this is an event worth staying in Winthrop for.
On Saturday March 2nd you can also check out Night Glow, an evening of lit up balloon spectacle. The balloons will arrive around 5:30 PM to set up, will begin to glow at sunset 5:50 PM and stay up until around 6:30 PM.
If you want to ride in a balloon you’ll need to contact Snohomish Balloon Ride, Balloon Depot, or Seattle Ballooning. Flights do tend to fill up in November, but if it looks like an event is full, don’t be afraid to send an email to be connected with another participating balloon company.
So mark your calendars and start planning a trip to beautiful Winthrop. It’s coming up soon!
