It really is the most wonderful time of year. The cozy, festive vibes are in full swing, and if you’re looking to get out of the house and enjoy them, I have just the spot. The Ace Hotel Toronto is undergoing a seasonal transformation, turning its rooftop bar, Evangeline, into a winter chalet complete with the brand-new Lot 40 outdoor curling rink – overlooking Toronto’s skyline. Sounds pretty dreamy, am I right?
According to the Ace Hotel, “Guests are invited to settle into a chic new alpine vibe at the Ace’s rooftop hotspot, complete with twinkling lights, blazing fireplaces, and warm blankets for snuggling indoors or out on the terrace.”
The winter chalet opens on Dec. 2 and will remain through until Feb. 28, 2026, meaning you have lots of time to check it out (more than once, perhaps?).
As for the curling rink, 30-minute sessions are actually free to enjoy. It’s first-come, first-served, and is ideal for small groups or pairs.
What pairs perfectly with a cozy evening? Obviously, fondue.
For $45 a person, Sunday to Thursday, chalet guests can enjoy classic fondue with cheese, baked bread, gherkins, seasonal vegetables, and cured meats, or the sweeter option with chocolate fondue, fresh fruit, marshmallows, and toasted nuts.
What pairs perfectly with a cozy evening and fondue? Obviously, a festive beverage.
Yep, there will be a lineup of seasonal cocktails like the Mulled Wine Sour, Sweater Weather, a take on the classic hot toddy, and the Smooth O-pear-ator, a non-alcoholic pear and winter spice cocktail.
The winter chalet is just one of a handful of festive happenings at Evangeline and the Ace Hotel, with the rest of their lineup including:
Alpine Noir: NYE at Evangeline – Wed. Dec. 31: “A high-altitude celebration draped in chalet warmth and shadowed elegance. Tickets include a glass of bubbles at midnight, passed hors d’oeuvres, a photobooth, and a dance party.”
So, grab your curling partner, and get ready for what’s sure to be one of the best seasonal pop-ups in the city.
When: Dec. 2, 2025, to Feb. 28, 2026
Where: The Ace Hotel – 51 Camden St.
