The Whyte Avenue Art Walk kicks off in Edmonton today & here’s what to know

Feeling a little bit artsy? You picked the right weekend for it, because the Whyte Avenue Art Walk kicks off in Edmonton today! It’s time to mix in a trip to Old Strathcona, and we’ve got the details about what you can expect during your visit.

First and foremost, the Art Walk is just that- an art walk. A variety of artists, studios and galleries will be setting up shop all along Whyte Ave and into the surrounding area. All told, there are over 300 artists joining in this year, representing some 4 kilometres of stalls and booths.

That’s a lot of art, and luckily, you’ll have ample opportunities for breaks. Throughout the weekend there will be free concerts in the nearby McIntyre Park, so make sure to check that out while you eat your lunch or as a little mid-afternoon relaxation.

Speaking of McIntyre Park, it will also be the site for a little pancake breakfast on Saturday! If you were feeling a little left out by Calgary’s Stampede breakfasts, then this is the perfect local alternative. We have to admit, we’re feeling the pull already.

So, get some walking shoes on, round up your pals, and go enjoy this amazing cultural experience this weekend!

Whyte Avenue Art Walk

When: Friday, July 8th to Sunday, July 10th
