The Sweetest event of the year is back and this time around, it’s going to be bigger than ever! Bundle up and fill your cup, because Calgary’s YYC Hot Chocolate fest returns next Tuesday, February 1st!
With over 80 participants city-wide, this event is definitely not one that you’re going to want to miss.

From cafes and restaurants to convenience stores and bubble tea spots, some of Calgary’s favourite eateries will take part in a month-long drink-making competition in hopes of raising money for Meals On Wheels, a buy one, give one a that provides healthy food for those in need.
So, how does it work?
The name of the game is simple! Each location has been tasked with marketing and selling a uniquely cozy drink that they have created with one of 3 categories in mind; Best Hot Chocolate (customers will vote for their favourite), The Cup That Runneth Over Award (the most popular) and the Most Spirited Hot Chocolate (the best boozy cocoa.)
Between the 1st and the 28th, all drinks will be sold with $1 to $3 going to the charity and winners will be calculated shortly after, so start your engines and start planning ahead.
