Here’s when Whistler Blackcomb will open for the 2024/2025 winter season

It’s a big season ahead for Whistler Blackcomb, which just announced its official opening date for winter 2024/2025. A newly upgraded high-speed chairlift will make its debut, and the resort will host the Invictus Games in February of 2025. So while we still have some summer left to enjoy, let’s jump ahead a couple of seasons!

Whistler Blackcomb is world-renowned for its unparalleled mountain adventures, drawing visitors from across the globe for decades. What started as a dream to host the Olympics in 1966 has since become the largest ski resort in North America.

This season, visitors can look forward to using the newly upgraded Jersey Cream Express chairlift, which will seat six people and significantly improve uploading capacity in the Glacier Creek Zone, according to the resort.

Whistler Blackcomb will also host the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, which will bring together over 500 competitors from 20 countries to compete in adaptive sports.

Finally, visitors can get excited about a slew of returning festivals, including the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, weekly Fire & Ice Shows in Whistler Village, Whistler Pride and Ski Festival, the 39th Annual Peak to Valley Race, Whistler Cup, and Creekside Classic.

Passes & info

Now, let’s get into pricing for the season ahead. Skiers and riders have until September 2nd to purchase a Pass before they increase in price, so now is the ideal time to buy one if you’re planning to spend a significant time on the slopes!

First off, the Whistler Blackcomb EDGE Card offers exclusive discounts to Canadian and Washington State Residents with access to Whistler Blackcomb starting at $81 per day. Those with an EDGE Card can choose from 2, 5, or 10 days.

However, its the Epic Pass that offers avid skiers and snowboarders the best deals of the season, with unlimited access to Whistler Blackcomb and over 80 resorts worldwide. Currently, Epic Passes are priced at $1,004 USD per person.

Those who prefer to build their own passes can opt for the Whistler Blackcomb Day Pass, which allows visitors to choose 1-10 days to use throughout the season starting at $93 per day.

So if you’re already looking forward to the season of snowy peaks and days on the mountain, consider booking ahead.

Whistler Blackcomb officially opens for the winter season on Friday, November 22nd.

That’s a wrap for now, winter lovers! Stay tuned for more info as it comes.
