This map shows exactly where they filmed “The Last Of Us” in Alberta

After a year of anticipation, HBO’s live-action adaption of ‘The Last Of Us’ premiered last week and to our delight is just as good as we hoped it would be. In fact, they did such a good job, that it’s been pretty difficult to determine where exactly in Alberta they shot some of the show’s biggest scenes so far.

Thanks to the trailer, we know that several provincial landmarks (such as the legislature buildings) will appear in the coming weeks, but it’s worth giving it up to those who worked on the set design and CGI.

To the average eye, most of Alberta is unrecognizable – but fear not, series sleuths, because Travel Alberta has us covered.

In favour of us focusing on dialogue, incredible performances and unreal effects – the government organization has created an interactive map, which is loaded with filming locations from Edmonton to Canmore.

As outlined above – episode one was filmed at Western Canada high school and Inglewood in Calgary, as well as Sullivan Road in High River and Don’s Barbershop in Fort McLeod, while episode two features the Legislature building in Edmonton and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (just to name a few),

In future episodes, keep your eyes peeled for the YYC Airport tunnel, and Chinook Centre, among others.

Starring Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones), the heartwrenching drama will follow Joel, a smuggler who is tasked with escorting a young girl across post-apocalyptic America and was shot entirely in the Wild Rose Province.

New episodes of The Last Of Us can be enjoyed on Crave or HBO via their local TV Provider every Sunday at 9:00 pm ET or 7 pm MST.
