Here’s what’s open and closed on the 4th of July in Seattle

It’s almost time for the 4th of July, and that means, we should plan ahead!  The national holiday will be observed by local businesses, so if you are planning to head out next Thursday, you may want to know what’s open. To help you plan, here is what’s open and closed on July 4th in Seattle.

OPEN

To start, according to Seattle Parks and Recreation, while some facilities will be closed Thursday, July 4, these facilities are OPEN on regular or modified* schedules:

  • Parks
  • *Seattle Japanese Garden (open at noon) and Volunteer Park Conservatory
  • Colman and Mounger outdoor pools
  • Sprayparks and Wading Pools (see this page for schedules)
  • Lifeguarded Beaches (see this page for schedules)
  • Boat ramps
  • *Golf: Interbay, Jefferson & Jackson: 6am – 6pm. West Seattle: Regular hours.

Also open in the city:

  • Pike Place Market
  • Walmart
  • Starbucks
  • Whole Foods (Modified hours)
  • CVS (10am to 2pm)
  • Trader Joe’s (Open until 5pm)
  • Most restaurants will be open as well

CLOSED

According to Seattle Parks and Rec, these facilities and services are CLOSED:

  • All recreation programs
  • Community centers and teen centers
  • Environmental learning centers
  • Indoor swimming pools
  • Green Lake Small Craft Center
  • Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center
  • Amy Yee Tennis Center

Also closed in Seattle on the 4th of July:

  • Banks
  • Costco
  • Government buildings
  • Libraries
  • FedEx
  • UPS
  • United States Postal Service
