Here’s what’s filming in and around Vancouver this month

It’s been another busy month for Hollywood North, with production underway for several major TV shows and movies. So if you enjoy keeping up with what’s heading to the silver screen, this is for you.

Here’s what’s filming in and around Vancouver this month.

The Last of Us – Season 2

TLOU season 2 (AKA ‘Megasword’ on CreativeBC) has been transforming parks, lots, and various locations across Vancouver and the PNW. Most recently, the production set up at a parking lot across from the Orpheum Theatre, with temporary ‘no stopping’ zones set up between Smithe and Robson. So stay tuned for more production info as it comes!

Yellowjackets – Season 4

With multiple seasons of filming in BC already under its belt, Yellowjackets follows the lives of a group of plane crash survivors and how their futures are all interwoven. Starring Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, and Tawny Cypress, the show is currently filming at 3500 Cornett Road – B and downtown Vancouver (#402 – 1008 Homer Street) until October 24th.

The Irrational – Season 2

According to a notice of filming issued by the City of Vancouver, ‘The Irrational’ will film “mostly interior dialogue scenes” at the Orpheum from 7 am to 11 pm on August 6th and 7th, as well as an exterior scene in the alley west of the theatre from 0900-1500.

“The scene will involve a picture vehicle pulling up to the alley on Smithe Street,” reads the notice. “VPD will assist with traffic control on Smithe Street between Seymour and Granville Streets.”

According to CreativeBC, the series will conclude filming in the Vancouver area on October 31st.

Allegiance – Season 2

This series explores the Canadian justice system through the eyes of Sabrina Singh, a Sikh police ‘rookie’ with conflicting loyalties to her newfound profession and her father, the Minister of Public Safety. The show will commence filming at 200 – 3920 Norland Avenue, Burnaby on August 26th and wrap on December 6th.

Invasion – Season 3

Directed by Brad Anderson, Invasion (code name ‘Kanji’ on CreativeBC), is a sci-fi thriller series filming from now until September 6th in North Vancouver at 555 Brooksbank Avenue. The character-driven show focuses on the lives of five individuals as Earth is visited by an alien species threatening human existence.

Animal Control – Season 3

A sitcom centred around the lives of animal control workers, Animal Control is filming at 8275 Manitoba Street until August 20th.
