Gone are the days of the Car Free Days in Vancouver (at least for now), because Car Free Month has officially arrived in the city! The festivities officially kicked off over the weekend, but we’ve got tons to look forward to throughout September. So, let’s see what’s in store!

There are four events planned this month, with one of them being ongoing. The first one to look forward to? This Sunday’s (September 5th) Car Free Chill Day, which will feature places to eat and drink, games, and even a drag show to check out.

Next up is an ongoing series of audio tours that will highlight different parts of the city. This year, you can look forward to audio tours focusing on East Van, Strathcona, and Mt. Pleasant. So, it might be a great accompaniment on an early fall walk!

Also happening that weekend is a Car Free Community Market in the West End. While smaller than previous years, this market will feature the same artisans, which means you’ve still got tons of stuff to shop around for.

And finally, the big event this year is a Car Free Pop-Up Patio (PUP) Ride. This group bike ride will stop at 3-4 live music performances over the course of the evening, offering surprise concerts from local artists! While it’s free to attend, the organizers (and us) suggest you bring a little cash for the artists themselves. The first instalment actually happened this weekend, but it’s coming back to cap the month off as well!

So, what are you picking Vancouver? You’ve got options!
