Here’s what you can rent for $2,000 a month in cities across BC

When it comes to apartment hunting in Vancouver, chances of finding anything under $2,000 a month are pretty slim. But in cities across BC? Your options are far less limited.

So with that in mind, whether you’re looking to stay in the area or branch out, here is what $2,000 a month can get you around BC.

8615 Laurel Street, Vancouver – $1,950 per month

We’ll start with the closest to the city on the list, located in South Vancouver. With community garden plots, an indoor entertainment lounge, and bike storage, this spot is an excellent pick for those who want a place to call home for the long term, and not just a place to crash.

The Marpole building has a great contemporary vibe, and is within walking distance of specialty food stores, cafes, and boutiques. Oh, and most of the units also have a den – which is definitely a rarity if you’re talking city rentals!

4745 Ledgerwood Road, Nanaimo – $1,710 per month

With close access to the mountains, forest, and Highway 1, the Cascades in Nanaimo is the perfect spot to start anew on the Island. Building amenities include a multi-purpose lounge and an outdoor patio, and every suite contains a walk-out balcony and in-suite laundry. Oh, and new renters who sign a 13-month lease can get a month of free rent!

38012 Third Avenue, Squamish – $2,000 per month

Close access to wildlife and hiking options, downtown amenities, and more. Residents have access to their own private balconies as well as a large communal rooftop terrace with cozy seating and a BBQ area.

12685 110 Avenue, Surrey – $1,925 to $1,999 per month

This brand-new apartment and condo complex in Surrey has a ton of options when it comes to available units. And they’re all located near the Scott Road Skytrain for convenient access to Vancouver. Residents can enjoy in-suite laundry, pet-friendly features throughout the property, a gym, and a rooftop deck.

1467 K.L.O Road – Kelowna – $1,699 per month

With 280 contemporary-style homes, Mission Flats offers a “resort-like community” for those looking to move to Kelowna. Green technology, walk-in closets, renovated kitchens, and a fitness room all await. Plus, new renters can get a month of free rent when they sign a 13-month lease.

And that’s a wrap on apartments for rent in BC. While $2,000 a month isn’t affordable per se, it’s always good to know what your money can get you in different cities.
