This adorable village in Ontario has a year-round lookout point with panoramic views

Westport, Ontario, is one of those cozy places you want to visit in the wintertime. The village has plenty of local spots to appreciate and parks to explore.

Most notably, the area has a lookout point called Spy Rock and trust me, the views are worth the trip there. The trail to Spy Rock is in Foley Mountain Conservation Area, a perfect place for a snowy little day trip.

Spy Rock in Westport, Ontario

In my opinion, this is the first stop you need to visit when in Westport, Ontario.

The village itself is about three hours and 45 minutes from Toronto by car, but Spy Rock is located in the Foley Mountain Conservation Area.

The trail you’ll want to follow to get to Spy Rock is called the Blue Circle Trail. The hike spans 3.2 km and if you’re looking for an accessible option to get to the lookout, there is access on the trail via ramp.

Winter is the perfect time to visit and take in the panoramic scenery as crowds typically flood the area in the fall. The sights are just as stunning in the colder months so it’s a win-win.

Westport Brewing Company

You deserve a drink after all that hiking!

The Westport Brewing Company is a must-visit. This local brewery has an impressive lineup of drinks including a house sour, lager, stout and IPA (just to name a few).

Grab a bite to eat while stopping in at the taproom and choose from a selection of mouthwatering dishes like The Brewhouse Burger, Pesto Grilled Cheese, Chicken Wings, Mac ‘n’ Cheese and The Harbour Classic Pizza.

A hike to a stunning lookout and celebratory drinks? Sounds like a perfect day to me.
