This BC park has two adjoining lakes & multiple famous waterfalls

Outdoor enthusiasts, take note. If you’re looking for a stunning provincial park to explore, a visit to Wells Gray Park near the Cariboo mountains is well worth it, no matter the season!

Visitors can hike to famous waterfalls, swim in refreshing mineral pools, and explore the largest canoe-only lake in North America – and that’s just for starters. So let’s dive right in!

Wells Gray Park is home to an array of natural pools, extinct volcanoes, lava beds, and glaciers, making it one of the most biodiverse parks in the province. Those keen on swimming can dip into the glacier-fed Murtle Lake, adjoining Clearwater and Azure Marine Lake, as well as the lakes, rivers, and streams in the Corridor area. However – your best bet at swimming in non-icy waters this summer is at Mahood Lake on the southwestern tip of the park.

Oh, and keep your eyes out for moose, black bears, deer, and even elusive mountain goats on your journey!
