This 1920s Sound front home in The Highlands just hit the market & it feels like a European villa

The Highlands are one of Seattle’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Located north of the city closer to Shoreline, the neighborhood is gated and out of the hustle and bustle of urban Seattle. What’s more, there are many special homes tucked away, and it’s not every day that they hit the market. Let’s check out a beautiful 1920s European Tudor Revival home.

The Edwin Ivey home was built in 1921 and is comprised of 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms spread through 11,680 square feet of space. It’s set on an over 3-acre property that has stunning views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

Much of the home’s heritage essence remains although the home systems and interiors were fully updated by Schultz Miller in 2005. You’ll find design elements like Moorish columns, elegant arches, and beams, paired with leaded glass and more. It’s truly a heritage lover’s dream.

Outside the home, you’ll find amazing decks for taking in the views as well as manicured grounds for walking and with amenities like a tennis court. It’s worth noting that The Highlands has community use areas  “100 acres of reservation urban forest, playing fields, tennis courts, a pool and wading pool with bathhouses, a preschool, chapel, and private access to a nearby secluded Puget Sound beach.”

As you might expect, this home comes with a hefty price tag, $9.5 million to be exact. If you’d like to see more of it, it is currently listed with Windermere.
