Washington ranked as having one of the lowest resignation rates in the US

The Great Resignation has been all the rage during the pandemic. That being said, it looks like Washington state isn’t participating as much as you might think. In fact, our evergreen state just ranked as having one of the lowest resignation rates in the US.

The new ranking comes from WalletHub and was compiled using data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The data used was both the resignation rate from the past 12 months and the latest month. This led to Washington coming in #48 out of 51 states with a 2% resignation rate.

WalletHub did not analyze the reasons behind these rates but it seems fair to assume that Washington employees have high job satisfaction. Conversely, it could also indicate that people are unable to resign due to living costs and therefore stick with jobs they don’t love. Either way, it’s not a ranking that we’d expect to do so “well” in.

That being said we’re certainly doing better than the top 3 states with the highest resignation rates which include Alaska, Wyoming, and Georgia.
