The list of Canada’s Best Employers for 2022 has been released

If you’re pondering making a job switch this year, then you’ll definitely want to see the list of Canada’s Best Employers for 2022. Created by Forbes, using Statista to get their data, the list offers an inside look at some of the best places to work across the country.

How did they get there? Good question. A major survey of over 100,000 Canadians was taken last year, asking them to rate how likely they would be to recommend their company to others. Then, they were asked to nominate companies other than their own for a little extra context. The top 300 organizations that got the most recommendations then made the list, with one catch- they had to have a minimum of 500 employees.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Canadian education sector dominated the top 10, with 4 names getting the nod with the University of New Brunswick at second place, the Canada School of Public Service in third, and the University of Victoria then Sheridan College at 7th and 8th respectively.

But, what did surprise us was both Health Canada and the Canadian Mental Health Association making it in there. Especially in light of the past couple years, which has undoubtedly put a strain on both the health and mental health systems nationwide. Good to see that the employees are holding up, is our stance.

Outside of the top ten, some of the more, uh, unique spots that ranked highly were The Keg Steakhouse & Bar (#13) and Abbott Laboratories (#17), both of which were the only ones of their kind in the top 50. Turns out, you don’t have to go into healthcare or public service to love your job!
