This Ontario village among picturesque hills has a lilac festival with stunning colours

Stop and smell the lilacs! Situated in the beautiful rolling hills of the Municipality of Trent Hills is Warkworth, Ontario, host to the Warkworth Lilac Festival. All are welcome to come check out rare and beautiful lilacs of unique varieties with the 2024 festival scheduled for May 25th and 26th.

Warkworth, Ontario is located about 90 minutes east of Toronto.

Warkworth may be a small village but it packs a punch, cosseted by seven picturesque hills.

The annual event that takes place on the Millennium Lilac Trail, attracting “a multitude of visitors from all over the province.”

If you’re a flower lover then you’re going to want to check it out as there are many rare lilacs of multiple varieties to see!

The lilacs are planted strategically in beds along the trail turning it into a showcase of blooms – a perfect place to stroll around and snap some photos.

There’s most than just lilacs to enjoy though.

According to the Warkworth Lilac Festival, “Festivities on the Lilac Trail include activities for the entire family. Included are a variety of vendors, children’s activities, musicians and food service.”

Stunning trails of lilacs, music, food, what more could you ask for?

While you’re visiting Warkworth, be sure to check out the local shops on Main Street, too.

I can’t think of a better way to spend a day than among hundreds of stunning lilacs.
