There’s a hot air balloon festival in Washington this spring & you can be part of it

Hot air balloons are a magical sight – one that we don’t get to see very often. So when the opportunity comes to see one or a few, you really don’t want to pass it up. The 48th annual Walla Walla Balloon Stampede takes place this spring, and here’s what to know!

According to Seattle Ballooning, the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede returns in May over mother’s day weekend, from the 9th to the 12th.

During that time, you can join in on the fun and fly with over 20 other hot air balloons during the Stampede!

“Enjoy stunning panoramic views soaring over the vineyards, rolling hills, and stunning countryside during this epic festival. This ultimate adventure is a must-try for anyone looking to experience the thrill of hot air balloon festival,” states Seattle Ballooning.

You can get to the park early to watch them launch, or simply keep your eyes on the skies each morning of the event. If that’s not enough though, you can also fly on one.

The balloons will rise into the air at Howard Tietan Park, and when you book, tickets are generally for 4:45 AM.

So if you’re ready to experience something new this spring, you can book a select few flights to fly among the other balloons in the stampede.

Flights start at $350 per person so it definitely is on the pricier side but who knows when else you’ll be able to fly in a hot air balloon!

Keep in mind, there are limited spots and Saturday is filling up quick.
