With fall and winter ahead, you may be looking for ways to bring the outdoors in. There’s no better way to do just that than by picking up a few new plants from a local plant sale. This month the Cascade Cactus and Succulent Society (CCSS) is hosting a plant sale at Capitol Hill’s Volunteer Park Conservatory this weekend and here’s what to expect.

The CCSS is bringing you two days of plant-shopping fun on Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th. There will be a wide variety of rare and interesting cacti, as well as succulents, and other plants and accessories available each day from 10 AM to 3 PM.

CCSS members will also bring and show off some of their more interesting and prized varieties to share with the public. It’s a great way to talk to members and learn about plant care directly from them and how you too can cultivate beautiful rare plants.

Best of all, members are rotating plants each day so you’ll find something new if you go both days.

The CCSS asks that you bring a box or bag to carry your new plants home in as the boxes they do have often go quickly. What’s more, they ask that you RSVP to the event so that they have enough volunteers to help out. Keep in mind that while the plant sale is free to attend, you will have to pay admission of $6 to explore the Volunteer Park Conservatory.

Enjoy!
