The most wonderful time of year is wonderful for many reasons: holiday cheer, seasonal treats, the snow, and Black Friday savings. If you’re travelling for the holidays or are hoping to escape for a weekend sometime soon, Via Rail is a great choice, and for a limited time, select rides are discounted for Black Friday. You’ll need to act quickly, though.
Here’s what to know.
According to Via Rail, the Black Friday sale is on from now until Dec. 2, 2025, with savings of up to 35 per cent off.
One of the deals you can take advantage of is 35 per cent off the Economy fare in Economy class for travel in the Québec City–Windsor corridor on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for travel dates between Feb. 23 and March 31, 2026.
Another discount is 25 per cent off the Economy fare in Economy class for travel in the Québec City–Windsor corridor on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for travel dates between Jan. 16 and Feb. 11, 2026.
You can also save 20 per cent on the discounted fare in Sleeper Plus class for travel on board the Ocean train (from Montreal to Halifax) between Jan. 12 and March 31, 2026.
Finally, you can get 20 per cent off the Economy fare in Economy class for travel on board the Canadian and the Ocean train, and regional trains between Jan. 12 and March 31, 2026.
To get any of these slashed prices, you just need to select your rides between the dates of travel, before Dec. 2, using the code TRAIN2025.
So, if that weekend getaway to Montreal, Quebec, Windsor, or Ottawa (the list goes on) has been calling, don’t hesitate to book that ticket.
