Just in case you missed the initial update, you should know that the Bloedel Conservatory’s infamous corpse flower is now blooming! For the next day or two, visitors will be treated to a beautiful flower with a signature grotesque smell. Talk about a mixed bag!

Uncle Fester, as the flower is lovingly known, first bloomed back in 2018. And while 3 years seems like a long time to wait, keep in mind that these things can lay dormant for up to a decade. Yeah, they’re finicky when it comes to strutting their stuff on the main stage.

But, we guess conditions were right this year! For the next day or two, you can check out the monstrous flower up close and personal. We recommend booking a timeslot ASAP, since even those with a passing interest in plants are sure to want to check it out. A little extra good news, though? The conservatory has extended its hours from 9AM-9PM for today and tomorrow.
