Well music lovers, it looks like you might just have something to look forward to this fall. Westward Music Fest has announced a plan to return to the city this September, and they’ve already got artists and venues on board! The week-long festival hopes to showcase some amazing local and international talent, so let’s see what they have in mind.

So far, just under 29 artists are on the lineup, from Vancouver’s own BBNO$ to the New York-based Bryce Vine. We’re not going to pretend that we recognize all the names in the lineup, but we think discovering new music is half the fun of going to a festival, don’t you?

Meanwhile, a wide array of Vancouver’s music venues have already signed on for the festival. So far The Vogue, Imperial, The Biltmore, and The Fox have all said they’d host the festival if possible, and we’re sure that more names will join if things go according to the plan this summer. As for what to expect at a particular concert, Westward Music Fest is in talks with public health authorities, and will adjust their protocols as needed closer to the festival itself.

Which, of course, is all up in the air right now. So far, the plan is to sell tickets for individual shows and ‘show packs’ to start with, just in case some concerts need to be postponed. However, Westward does also plan to sell festival passes closer to the date, should public health regulations allow it.

So, our advice is to check out the festival lineup for yourself, and see if any names strike your fancy!
