A huge point of pride in Vancouver is, you guessed it, Pride Month – and this year’s festivities have officially arrived! Every year, the city celebrates the members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and the incredible art and talent to come out of it – as well as the individuals working towards creating greater inclusivity in our city.
If you’re ready to prepare for this weekend’s Pride Festival and Parade, let’s catch up on everything new and improved for this year’s celebration.
The Vancouver Pride Society is committed to amplifying the voices of marginalized voices in Vancouver, including Queer, Trans, Black, and Indigenous voices. This is reflected in this year’s Pride festival theme: “Reconnect.”
“As the 2SLGBTQ+ community continues to push for progress, one thing remains clear – we all need each other to help make a positive difference,” says Diane Ormiston of TD Bank Group, the presenting sponsor of this year’s festival. “Pride is a movement that allows us to gather, celebrate, and create change.”

Now taking place at Concord Pacific Place, the Vancouver Pride Festival will occur from July 28th to August 6th, with the grand finale VanPrideFest taking place on August 5th and 6th – which means even more parties, pop-up events, and drag shows are in store.
The two-day celebration will be free to attend, and take place from noon until 7 pm. Headlining artists include Fefe Dobson, Coco & Breezy, Madison Rose, and Prado Monroe on the TD Main Stage.
Festival attendees can also look forward to music by some of Vancouver’s best DJs and performances by the city’s finest drag artists, including Jaylene Tyme, Batty Banks, Maiden China, Mx. Bukuru, Shay Dior, and Vancouver’s Next Drag Superstar winner Genesis – to name a few.
Finally, this year’s larger venue will also have more relaxed zones for those wanting to keep things chill. Visitors can peruse a market with local vendors and food trucks, and explore a low-sensory area, as well as a kid-friendly zone.
As well, the new parade route and festival site will be closer to convenient transportation options, making it easier for residents across the Lover Mainland to attend.
Starting this year, the Vancouver Pride Parade will begin at the intersection of Davie and Denman, Streets, and will move down Beach Avenue and Pacific Street, reaching its end at the festival site at Concord Community Park.

And if you’re looking to party until the late hours of the night, Vancouver Pride Society is partnering with local collectives Drill and NormieCorp to bring two afterparties to Vancouver on August 5th and 6th. So get ready to dance your socks off!
