Attention, Vancouver! The season of outdoor concerts is nearly upon us, and jazz lovers have no shortage of shows to check out at this year’s Vancouver Jazz Festival. Best of all? Tons of them are completely free to attend, and they’re scheduled to take place at venues across the city.
Every year, Coastal Jazz hosts a slew of local and international talent at venues across the city. This year, Grammy-winning rapper, advocate, and entrepreneur Killer Mike is headlining the festival, followed by a mix of free and ticketed performances. This includes the return of Downtown Jazz – a free concert series outside the Vancouver Art Gallery on šxwƛənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square on June 22nd and 23rd.
Free shows will begin at noon on both days, with the last performances of the evening scheduled for 7:30 pm.
As for the majority of the festival, Granville Island will act as its official hub, with free and ticketed shows scheduled at Performance Works, Ocean Artworks, and the Revue Stage.
