Love a late summer stroll? There’s still time to check out some of the most popular Vancouver Island night markets before the season wraps. So if sampling local bites and sips while enjoying live music sounds like a blast – consider booking a ferry ride sooner rather than later!

Here are 6 delicious summer night markets to check out on Vancouver Island this month.

Sidney Street Market 

Situated in the charming coastal town of Sidney, the Sidney Street Market takes place on Beacon Avenue every Thursday until September 5th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, attracting thousands of visitors to downtown Disney for a mix of local vendors and live entertainment.

Oh, and there’s a free bike valet service available at 9831 Fourth Street!

Sooke Night Market

Supported by the Sooke Region Historical Society, the Sooke Night Market highlights the diverse span of food producers, artists, and entrepreneurs in the area, offering visitors a chance to sample the best of the season. The last night market of the year will take place from 5 to 9 pm on Thursday, September 5th on the Sooke Region Museum Grounds.

Oak Bay Village Night Market

Live music, street food, and local brews at the courtyard – what more could we ask for?! The Oak Bay Village Night Market is having its final monthly event on September 11th (4 to 8 pm) and you won’t want to miss it. According to organizers, there is an even greater variety of farm produce available this year, in addition to local preserves, sauces, teas, baking, and more.

Check out the local artisans and hang out for some sips at the Wine in the Courtyard at Cork and Barrel in Athlone Court. Here, you’ll find a mix of craft beer and cider, local and international wines, new canned cocktails, and craft spirits by over 15 suppliers.

Where: 2100 and 2200 blocks of Oak Bay Avenue

Esquimalt Farmers Market 

The Esquimalt Farmers Market has multiple evening markets to make note of this September and October, including Thursdays at Memorial Park until September 26th (4:30 to 7/7:30 pm) and Mondays at Gorge Park until September 16th (4:30 to 7:30 pm).

At both, visitors can expect to find a mix of organic, local produce, visual art, apparel, street food, kombucha, and more.

When: Every Thursday until September 12th, 19th, and 26th, every Monday until September 16th
Where: Memorial Park and Gorge Park, Esquimalt, BC
Cost: Free admission

Bastion Square Market 

The Bastion Square Night Market series has everything we’re personally looking for – lively music, amazing craftsmanship, and of course, delicious eats. In addition to its regular market hours from 11 am to 5 pm, the final night market takes place from 5 to 9:30 pm on Thursday, September 12th.

When: Thursday, September 12th
Where: Bastion Square, Victoria, BC
Cost: Free admission

Port Alberni Friday Night Market

Last but certainly not least, we come to Port Alberni’s Friday Night Market by the Wesco Food Society, which runs until the end of September. Visitors can expect to find a variety of arts and crafts, live music and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, all from 6 to 9 pm.

When: Every Friday until the end of September
