Wine lovers, get ready for the ultimate tasting event. In just a few short months, the Vancouver International Wine Festival is back for its 44th installment – running for an entire week in April.
Often attracting tens of thousands of visitors, the fest is easily one of the largest of its kind in Canada. And it’s not without good reason, as it attracts wine producers from all over the world, both big and small.
This year’s festival will focus on winemakers from South America, with 44 of the 152 participating wineries from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay. You can sip on their blends and learn more about their stories with fellow festivalgoers in the Tasting Room and at special events throughout the week.

In addition to South America, there will also be a good portion of European and local wines to sample.
“Italy leads the way with 26 wineries, but France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Portugal, and Spain are also well represented,” says Mark Taylor, co-chair of the VIWF Winery Selection Committee.
“The New World is out in force, with Canada and the US combining for 48 wineries in attendance, and returning favourites travelling from Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. In total, there will be more than 800 wines in the Tasting Room to discover, marking a return to pre-pandemic numbers.”
