The Vancouver Art Gallery is introducing FREE nights every month & here’s when

Want to check out local and touring art without the extra cost to your wallet? Then we have great news to share. Thanks to a new partnership with BMO, the Vancouver Art Gallery is set to launch free admission to the public on the first Friday of every month, from 4 pm to 8 pm.

The “Free First Friday Nights” will provide visitors with increased access to the Gallery like never before, allowing a broader audience to enjoy the work of local and global artists alike.

“Thanks to the support of BMO, we will be able to amplify our programs and experiences, building a more creative, innovative and healthy Canada,” says Anthony Kiendl, CEO and Director of the Vancouver Art Gallery in a recent release.

The Vancouver Art Gallery now joins several other cultural institutions around the world to offer free admission on Friday nights. According to the release, Friday was the ideal choice, as it typically yields the most traffic, allowing more people to access the exhibits for free.

The Gallery will also be creating additional free programming and educational tours in the coming months. Among these initiatives is the newly established Public Partnership Program, which grants members of more than 15 participating organizations unlimited free visits to the Gallery.

Daily complimentary Gallery admission is already offered for free to youth ages 18 and younger, and the Free First Friday Nights program further extends the Gallery’s mission to enhance access to exhibitions, public programming and events.

The first free Friday night will be on May 5th – so mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy some after-work art!
