Happy Monday, lovebirds! With Valentine’s Day just a week away, we’re starting to feel the heat in Vancouver. But, fear not, because even if you haven’t found the perfect place to go with that special someone already, we’ve got some great options in mind. From full-blown tasting menus to at-home options to some very cute treats, there’s no shortage of great food to be had around the city.

Here are some delicious treats and meals to enjoy for Valentine’s Day around Vancouver.

Meals

Tojo’s Restaurant

Yeah, we’re starting big here. One of the most acclaimed sushi restaurants in Vancouver, and by extension all of Canada, is offering an ‘omakase’ menu throughout the weekend. If you’re looking to really ball out on a Valentine’s Day meal, this is our top pick.

A couple of spots are left at this relatively new restaurant in the Fairmont Pacific Rim. For $79 a person, you’ll get a full five-course tasting menu showcasing the best of the best from the kitchen, and following a truly Italian style of dining in a beautiful space. And of course, for a little extra you’ll get some amazing wine pairings to go with it.

When: Monday, February 14th
Where: 1029 W Georgia Street
Cost: $79+ per person

The Mackenzie Room

This sleeper hit of a restaurant specializes in ‘New American’ cuisine, which basically means whatever they feel like making. That approach hits a high note for Valentine’s Day, which features a protein-forward tasting menu that includes everything from sea urchin with squid ink brioche to beef heart tartare to arctic char with winter vegetables.

When: Monday, February 14th
Where: 415 Powell Street
Cost: $68 per person (sold out, but waitlist is available)

If your idea is romance is more a delicious meal to enjoy at home while you cuddle up on the couch, then we’ve got a couple of options for that too! First up is Maenam, which is offering three different (but all delicious) takeout dinners for two for the big day. Choose from classic, vegetarian, or even pescaterian, and know that each one will have your kitchen table feeling like the hottest restaurant in town.

When: Monday, February 14th
Where: 1938 W 4th Avenue
Cost: $140 (feeds 2-3 people)

Pizzeria Farina

Speaking of at-home options, we can never pass up the idea of a heart-shaped pizza to share. Luckily, this adorable option from Pizzeria Farina (and Farina a Legna in North Van) is only going to be available day-of, which means that as long as you’re ordering early, you won’t have to worry about it selling out before Valentine’s Day actually arrives in Vancouver.

When: Monday, February 14th
Where: 915 Main Street
Cost: $18

BETA5

Of course, Beaucoup isn’t the only amazing bakery to throw a hat in the romance ring. BETA 5, which is known for some very fun designs and incredible cream puffs, is offering Valentine’s Day themed options as well. Honestly, since it’s like picking a favourite child, we might just have to grab something from both.

Look no further for a delicious way to kick off Valentine’s Day weekend, instead of restricting it to the single day. Grounds for Coffee is known for their cinnamon buns, and of course, they’ve got a chocolate drizzle option in the works all weekend long! You can try your luck day-of, but we suggest preordering just in case.

When: Available Friday, February 11th to Monday, February 14th
Where: 2565 Alma Street and 2088 Commercial Drive
Cost: Varies

MILA

Of course, treats don’t have to be limited to baked goods. However, you can get the best of both worlds, and in a vegan-friendly way no less, at MILA. Throughout the weekend, they’ll be offering both a lemon custard bar and the return of their ‘Lover’s Lane’ cocktail, making it a great option for an after-dinner nightcap.

When: Available Friday, February 11th to Monday, February 14th
Where: 185 Keefer Street
Cost: $10+

Odd Society Spirits

And last but certainly not least, we’ve got the most adult-oriented option on this list. Sure, you’re $5 ticket to another instalment of ‘A Sunday Kind of Love’ gets you a truffle to enjoy, but, that’s just the tip of a boozy iceberg offering incredible drinks and treats from The Dessert Club.

When: Sunday, February 13th
Where: 1725 Powell Street

Okay lovebirds! Those are our picks for some amazing treats and meals to indulge in this Valentine’s Day in Vancouver! We hope they help you make some decisions about how you’re going to spend it.
