The University of Washington just got ranked among the top three MBA programs in the US.

According to the latest 2024 Best Online Programs ranking by the U.S. News & World Report, the University of Washington takes third place among other US schools.

The ranking is designed for individuals looking to complete or pursue their academic goals, and it looks at over 1,600 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at regionally accredited institutions.

“Choosing the right online degree program can unlock a world of opportunities,” says LaMont Jones, managing editor for education at U.S. News.

“As distance learning continues to rise, the rankings and related resources U.S. News offers will help equip students with data to make choices that align with their unique needs, paving the way for educational and professional fulfillment.”

This particular ranking focuses on degree-granting programs only, and includes several master-level disciplines: MBA, business (non-MBA), engineering, information technology (including computer science), criminal justice, education and nursing.

“The methodologies are different for each discipline, but all incorporate metrics assessing how well these programs are designed for distance learners, and their effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable timeframe,” states the ranking. “This includes traditional college-age students, working parents, military service members, as well as established professionals and lifelong learners.”

Here are the top Master’s Programs/MBA in the US according to the ranking:

1. Indiana University – Bloomington
2. Carnegie Mellon University
3. University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (tie)
3. University of Southern California (tie)
3. University of Washington (tie)
6. University of Florida (Warrington)
7. Arizona State University (Carey) tie
7. University of Arizona (Eller) tie
9. Rochester Institute of Technology (Saunders) tie
9. University of Kansas (tie)
11. University of Maryland–College Park (Smith)

The University of Washington scored 95/100 overall, giving it the No. 3 ranking out of 345 schools.

The school also ranked as number one in Best Online MBA Programs for Veterans, 6th in Best Online General Management MBA Programs (tie), 10th in Best Online Business Analytics MBA Programs, and 13th in Best Online Finance MBA Programs (tie).
