Toronto now has its own version of the famous umbrella alley

A unique display of colourful umbrellas that you may recognize from your travels (or from Instagram) is now in our city. Toronto has its own version of the famous umbrella alley — a vibrant art installation called the Umbrella Sky Project.

But, this installation isn’t just a pretty place to snap photos. It also has an important message to share about keeping you safe. Let us explain!

The display is actually a clever initiative aimed at raising awareness about the significance of sun safety.

It’s here in Canada for the first time, thanks to the David Cornfield Melanoma Fund (DCMF).

Nestled within Stackt Market, the Umbrella Sky Project by DCMF not only offers a visually stunning experience but also provides essential shade for visitors.

The installation is a captivating way to make Toronto locals pay attention to the risk of skin cancer and how to protect themselves from it.

In Canada, skin cancer is the most frequently diagnosed form of cancer, according to DCMF.

With this Insta-worthy display, the Umbrella Sky Project serves as a reminder to seek shade, cover up, and wear sunscreen in the name of skin safety.

All of this sunny weather we’re having lately makes this umbrella display the perfect spot for a stroll and some relief from the rays.

You’ll find this vibrant umbrella display in Stackt Market all spring and summer long.

Come for the photo op, stay for the shade and useful tips.
