“Current plan is for UFC 289 to take place June 10 in Calgary … Alberta … Canada,” the Montreal-based writer said on Twitter.

“These locations are changing a lot these days but this one is definitely looking good for Calgary.”

Of course, this is not the first time they’ve come to town.

Alvarez vs. Poirier 2 was also held at the Scotiabank Saddledome in July of 2018 and is remembered by many as “the worst ever” due to many of the high-profile fighters having to drop out due to serious injuries.

“The UFC 149 make-good would finally come to fruition,” joked Helwan.

“Hope it happens for y’all in Alberta and Canada. This would be the first UFC event in Canada since before the pandemic.”

As always, we will keep you updated as more information comes to light, but until then get excited! The UFC could be coming to Calgary!
