University of British Columbia has dozens of free courses you can take this spring

Whether you want to dive into a new subject or brush up on your industry skills, it’s always worth taking a look at the free courses available in your area. In Vancouver, the University of British Columbia (UBC) and edX offer over 60 free courses across six programs that you can take this spring, from game writing to coding to ecodesign.

As a global centre for research and teaching since 1915, UBC has consistently ranked among the world’s top universities. Most recently, the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 ranked the school in 52 academic subjects — more than any other university worldwide!
