This underrated Ontario hike leads to a secluded beach

Nothing beats a summer hiking adventure – especially if it means you get to wander through Ontario’s magnificent forests. That being said, if you’d like to explore new grounds and check out an Ontario provincial park, we have just the recommendation for you. Twin Points Trail is a stunning trek that highlights the beauty of Georgian Bay.

Inside Killbear Provincial Park

Located within Killbear Provincial Park, almost three hours away from Toronto, this hiking trail is a “natural gem,” according to Ontario Parks. And it’s identified as one of the Georgian Bay Biosphere Mnidoo Gamii’s Amazing Places.

It’s about a 1.6 km long trek, and if you’re up for the challenge, it should take you about 40 minutes to complete.

Where does it start?

Your journey begins at the parking lot and leads through a forest of Red Maple, White Pine, Red Oak, and Yellow and White Birch.

“With windswept pines, rugged rocks, and a plethora of wildlife, this is the perfect place to fully absorb the beauty of Georgian Bay,” shares Ontario Parks.

As you near the trail’s end, it leads you to an open space, leaving the forest and approaching rock barrens.

But the best part of this trail is this hidden beach, which can be found between rocky points overlooking Killbear Peninsula, according to Ontario Parks.

There are also two lovely viewpoints to capture the beauty of Georgian Bay.

Part of this trail is also wheelchair accessible, so everyone can enjoy a stunning view.

And to make things even better, Killbear Provincial Park is one of those parks with beach mats and all-terrain wheelchairs.

It’s an adventure for all and not one to miss this summer. Add this spot to your bucket list.
