Seattle summer has been filled with a plethora of cultural celebrations around the city ranging from Caribbean Sea Fest to Lynwood Luau to Xopantla Tianquiztli Festival. Turkfest is part of Seattle Center’s annual Festál series and is a great way to appreciate and learn about Turkish culture. Here’s what we know about this year’s event so far.
Turkfest will take place on Thursday, October 14th, and Friday, October 15th from 11 AM-6 PM at the Armory Food & Event Hall. Like other Festál events, it is free and open to the public.

The festival is put on in partnership with the Turkish American Cultural Association of Washington (TACAWA). Visitors will find a lively marketplace, food, music, dance, and more. As the festival has been happening since 2001 it has grown and changed throughout the years.
Overall, the goal is to “foster friendship, to highlight the diversity and richness of Turkish culture and Turkish speaking countries” through “organizing educational, entertaining, and engaging cultural programs that celebrate Turkish and Turkic cultures and heritage.”
