This 8-km river tubing adventure in Ontario takes you to multiple islands

Summer days are best spent on the water! If you want to float the day away and do some exploring while you’re at it, look no further than Tubing the Grand.

This excursion takes you on an 8-km adventure through the Grand River in Cambridge, just an hour outside of Toronto.

The scenic launch site is located across from the Village of Blair and that’s where the fun begins.

Your watercraft for this adventure isn’t your average inner tube.

This excursion has Turbo Tubes (a.k.a. Solo Rafts) you can rent, which are “a bit more adventurous” than what you’re used to.

Turbo Tubing is meant for “reasonably fit individuals who want a slightly more active experience,” the website says.

But, don’t worry because these babies are “stable, comfortable, and [a] suitable for fit beginners.”

The Turbo Tubes come with kayak paddles, so you’ll be able to “criss-cross the river and explore the islands” along the way.

But, most importantly there’s no need to rush. Tubers are encouraged to sit back, relax, and enjoy the view as it is said to be very beautiful.

There will be plenty to see, including a protected eagle habitat and osprey nesting areas.

Not to mention the beautiful 1,000-acre protected nature reserve that surrounds you.

Plus, these tubes have room for snacks and drinks, so you can pack some goodies for the ride!

This is a popular summertime adventure, so be sure to book early as they are often fully booked.

And if the weather isn’t looking good, you can cancel at any time for a full refund.

So, what’re you waiting for? It’s time to hit the open water and embark on the ultimate summer adventure.

Tubing the Grand: Cambridge

Where: Moyer’s Blair Landing, 780 Fountain Street, Cambridge
Cost: From $38 per tube rental
