Great news, Metro Vancouver! Canada’s largest Asian grocery store is planning to open a second location in Burnaby, and while it’s still early days, the new T&T store is set to be pretty massive.
Situated in the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Brentwood, the new store will be part of a larger mixed-use development by ONNI Group called Gilmore Place. In addition to T&T, it will include a range of retail businesses, restaurants, and the tallest residential tower in the province.
Gilmore Place joins over 28,000 new residential units currently in development in Brentwood alone. So this marks an exciting step in meeting the needs of present and future residents!
The new T&T store will be conveniently located near the Gilmore SkyTrain Station and will provide “plenty of parking,” according to T&T.
“We’re so excited to expand our presence in Burnaby with a second store,” says Tina Lee, CEO of T&T Supermarket Inc. “Currently, we have one T&T in Burnaby, and that’s at Metrotown Mall. If you’ve ever been there on a weekend, you’ll know it’s jam-packed. This additional store will allow us to better serve such a rapidly growing urban hub.”

At a whopping 55,000 square feet, the new location will feature the full range of T&T’s offerings, including Asian snacks, produce, live seafood, in-store prepared foods, skincare, gifts, and treats from its in-house bakery.
As well, T&T at Gilmore will offer shoppers the chance to try popular street foods like popcorn chicken, sticky rice wraps, and Chinese crêpes.
The new T&T store is set to open in the summer of 2025, so while we still have a ways to go before opening day, there’s no reason why we can’t get excited for what’s to come.
After all, the supermarket is beloved by Metro Vancouver residents and visitors alike, including SNL’s Bowen Yang, who recently gave T&T some love on his socials!
