There’s nothing better than a refreshing swim on a hot summer day, and Trout Lake Quarry is one of Ontario’s best spots for that.

Also known as Innerkip Quarry, Trout Lake is a spring-fed quarry in the village of Innerkip, Ontario.

The formerly abandoned quarry has been transformed into a popular summer destination that has been enjoyed in the community for over 50 years.

Filled with crystal-clear, spring-fed water, Trout Lake Quarry is a paradise for swimming, fishing, cliff-jumping, and even scuba diving.

The quarry boasts an “underground waterpark” that is a scuba diver’s dream, with sunken ships, school buses, and planes to explore.

Around the swimming hole is a playground for kids, washroom and shower facilities, as well as a snack bar to refuel while you lounge in the sun.

The best part is that Trout Lake Quarry has overnight camping available, so you can turn your visit into a weekend getaway.

There are over 100 seasonal campsites with full hookups and spectacular views of the sunset over the water.

If you want to upgrade, you can spend the night in one of the trailer or bunkie rentals on-site, complete with bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

Trout Lake is just one of several popular quarries in Ontario with clear waters for swimming.

St. Mary’s Quarry is said to be Canada’s largest outdoor freshwater pool and is a former limestone quarry that dates back to the 1920s.

There’s also the famous Elora Quarry, which is popular for its turquoise waters surrounded by cliffs and the lazy river tubing experience.

Don’t let summer pass you by without visiting one of these spots. They’re popular for a reason, and it’s about time you experience it for yourself!
