This sandy beach known as ‘Little Hawaii’ has some of the warmest salt water in BC

If you’re looking for a gorgeous summer destination, Tribune Bay on Hornby Island is as close to a tropical vacation in BC as it gets! Nicknamed “Little Hawaii” for its white sandy beaches and clear waters, the famous beach is a prime spot for swimming and relaxing.

The south-facing Tribune Bay is situated on the east side of the Island, where shallow waters meet “near tropical temperatures during the summer,” according to BC Parks.

In fact, the bay is considered to be one of the warmest saltwater swimming areas in the province!

Visitors will be greeted by a vibrant variety of wildflowers and berries along the beach’s hillsides, with the bay only five minutes away from the “downtown” of Hornby Island.

So if you’re looking for a weekend trip destination, this spot checks off all the boxes!
