Get ready to see some roving reindeer buses in Vancouver, folks! On Monday, TransLink announced that it’s going all out and decorating 9 buses this year, instead of the singular one in years past. That’s good news for us, since these silly looking things will definitely bring a smile to our face when we see them.
And yes, 9 is a significant number, since the new names are an easy giveaway. Say hello to Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and of course, Rudolph. Will they manage to save Christmas this year? In a way yes, since they’re part of Translink’s Toys for Tots initiative, which sees thousands of toys donated every year.

While we love the bold red colours, we do have to deduct points for giving each of the reindeer a red nose. Maybe the others painted them out of envy of Rudolph’s bold winter colour palette. Yeah, we’re going to go ahead and stick with that story.
Each of the 9 buses will operate on rotating routes, so you’re practically guaranteed to see one this month. If you’d like to learn more about the reindeer buses and Toys for Tots, just click here. Have a good day, folks!
