If one thing is for certain, Ontario is home to some of the best scenic views around. If you’re eager to add to your camera roll, look no further than the Tower Hill Lookout in Parry Sound. These panoramic views are unbeatable.

Located about two and a half hours away from Toronto is the Tower Hill Lookout and Heritage Garden in Parry Sound. You can find this town just east of the downtown core, and access the Tower Hill Lookout on foot which is about a 20-minute walk, or by car which is a five-minute drive.

According to Destination Ontario, the lookout tower stands tall at 30 metres high, overlooking Georgian Bay and the surrounding landscape.

You’ll need to climb up 130 steps to enjoy the panoramic experience but it’ll be worth your while.

This park in Ontario is a scenic waterfront oasis with a two kilometre boardwalk

It was originally built in the 1920s as a fire lookout tower and a public observation point, per Destination Ontario. It was designed to entertain and educate visitors about forest safety which at the time was a big concern for the local logging industry after the Great Fire of 1916.

After you’ve finished taking in the views, you can head back down and take a walk through the historic gardens. There’s a goldfish pond, which at this point in the season may or may not be as enchanting, an a pedestal sundial.

There’s also a museum on Tower Hill where you can learn about the shipwrecks, local logging trade, and what life was like in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

It’s a great experience and if you’re up for it, definitely day trip worthy.
