With the infinite variety of things to do in Ontario, it’s practically impossible to narrow them down to a handful of favourites. Thankfully, Tripadvisor has done the work for us with their annual Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best ranking for 2021. Tripadvisor has taken the places deemed “best of the best” by travellers around the world last year and sorted them into various categories, including fine dining, hotels, attractions and more.

And it’s no surprise that more than a few Ontario spots were named Canada’s top-rated places to go. We love to see it! Check out the list of mentions below to find out which ones made the cut.

It may be hard to compete with the likes of Fairmont Banff Springs and Quebec’s Le Château Frontenac, but these Ontario accommodations had travellers seriously impressed.

Among Canada’s top 25 hotels are Toronto’s Bisha Hotel in seventh place, The Hazelton Hotel in Yorkville in ninth place, Le Germain Hotel in Ottawa in twelfth place, Toronto’s One King West Hotel & Residences in twentieth place, and Toronto’s Hotel X in twenty-third. So, if you feel like playing tourist for a night, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

It seems that the Niagara region is defending its well-deserved title as Ontario’s go-to region for adventurous activities. On the list of Canada’s top overall attractions, the full-day Niagara-on-the-Lake wine and charcuterie tour came in at number one, followed by the Niagara Falls deluxe sightseeing tour in third place.
