Toronto’s new nature-inspired luxury hotel has 5 restaurants & a rooftop pool (PHOTOS)

From Miami’s South Beach to NYC’s Central Park and beyond, Toronto’s first 1 Hotel has officially opened its doors. The luxury hotel is located just south of King St. West and Bathurst St., and “serves as a city escape where guests can connect with nature,” according to the chain’s Founder and CEO, Berry Sternlicht.

The Toronto location is the sixth 1 Hotel in the world — others include Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Haitang Bay in Sanya, China. Many more are opening soon as well, in cities like Melbourne, Cabo, Paris and more.

1 Hotels describes itself as a “sustainable luxury hospitality brand,” and the new Toronto hotel is powered by renewable energy systems. All of the organic wet waste on-site is converted into reusable soil for over 3,000 plants and several gardens on the property.

The hotel’s design reflects its mission to showcase Toronto’s natural beauty through locally sourced materials. And like any luxury hotel, there are many amenities for guests to enjoy, including a rooftop pool and fitness facility.

There are 112 rooms complete with heated floors, organic bath products, yoga mats, in-room water filtration systems, and more — 21 of the rooms are suites with sweeping views of the city’s skyline.

There are also 5 “dining concepts” to experience at this hotel, including an indoor-outdoor restaurant, a cocktail lounge in the lobby, an outdoor garden venue called The Garden Pavillion, and two more restaurants coming soon, Harriet Toronto and Casa Madera.

A ceremonial tree planting will be held to celebrate the hotel’s opening and 2021 native trees will be planted throughout the city.
