Enjoy the mild weather while it lasts, because it won’t last long. According to Toronto’s weather forecast for the next two weeks, Thursday’s high of 16 C and sunshine will quickly give way to frigid wind chills and snowfall.
The Weather Network’s meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham says southern Ontario will be hit with record warmth this Thursday, followed by another above-seasonal but slightly colder day on Friday.
Sadly, the party’s over as of this weekend when the city dives back down to 0 C, feeling like -5 C with the wind chill and up to 5 cm of snow. Sunday will feel even colder at -6 C, with up to 3 cm of snow.
Toronto will get even more snow in the days leading up to Christmas, especially next Thursday the 23rd, and Christmas Eve Day.

On the 23rd, The Weather Network predicts that anywhere from 5 to 10 cm of snow will blanket the city, followed by an additional 2 to 4 cm on the 24th. You’ll really want to bundle up if you plan to head outside because it’ll feel like a bitter -9 C out there.
As for the Christmas Day forecast, right now it’s looking like nothing but sunshine with a high of -2 C in Toronto. But, at least we’ll have plenty of snow on the ground to make it extra festive.
If you’re curious about what the rest of the season has in store, The Weather Network predicts that a “come and go” winter is on tap for Ontario.
The next few months will bring both stormy weather and extended mild weather to the province. With the exception of an active storm that’ll bring tons of snow to the region, most of the season’s storms will be a “messy mix of snow, ice, and rain,” especially in southern regions.
Despite how cold it’s about to get, the heart of the season “will lack persistent severe cold” in Ontario. If it means we can spend more than a few minutes outside without getting frostbite, we’re here for it.
