In an unexpectedly pleasant turn of events, Toronto’s weather this weekend will actually be warm. The city will get a taste of early spring with a high of 15 C on Sunday, March 6th, with some sunshine and scattered showers in the mix.

Sadly, it’ll be back to reality on Monday with a high of 0 C and around 5 cm of snow in the forecast. So, enjoy the mild weather while it lasts!

This weekend’s weather flip-flop is what we can expect for the majority of the upcoming season, according to The Weather Network’s spring weather predictions across Canada.

Chief Meteorologist with The Weather Network Chris Scott said that while we’ll definitely get tastes of mild weather this spring, Canadians can expect an “especially tumultuous” season ahead.

“Periods of warm spring weather will be a delightful contrast to winter’s fury which we’ve all experienced at times during the past three months,
he said.

Ontario and Quebec can look forward to some very early and very warm spring weather this season — much like the weather we’ll get to enjoy this coming weekend.

However, residents will have their patience tested with some “significant setbacks” and above-average precipitation.

It’ll be two steps forward and one step back as we transition from winter to spring, but hey, anything’s better than -25 C so we’ll take what we can get!
