It may not be the first thing you think of when you picture classical music, but the Toronto Symphony Orchestra just announced 5 new shows, and we’re pretty excited.

Tickets for these brand-new shows will be going on sale starting Wednesday, July 26th, and that’s not all. The upcoming concert season is packed with shows, and there’s something for everyone!

Can you imagine a classier evening than going to the symphony? Especially if that symphony features beloved soundtracks from your favourite movies like Disney Pixar’s Coco in Concert, Home Alone in Concert, and Superman in Concert – and those aren’t even the new shows!

Here’s a taste of a few of the brand-new concerts coming to Toronto and why we’re so excited about them.

Animaniacs in Concert

Who doesn’t remember this wacky, slapstick cartoon with its beloved cast of characters? Name a more iconic duo than Pinky and the Brain. We’ll wait.

This is a great concert for the whole family and features original voice cast members, Emmy award-winning songs, and the songwriter and composer himself, Randy Rogel. Mark your calendar for an afternoon of laughs and a good heaping of nostalgia.

Game ON! features iconic soundtracks from major gaming titles such as The Witcher 3, Bioshock, Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft, Ori, Assassin’s Creed, and more. Bring the squad for an unforgettable night out that combines stunning arrangements with never-before-seen HD video.

Hisaishi Conducts Hisaishi

If you don’t think you know composer and conductor Joe Hisaishi, then trust us – you do. This legendary Japanese composer is known for his enchanting Studio Ghibli film scores. Recognize him now?

Relive the magic of your favourite films as Hisaishi conducts a selection of his own compositions, including a set from the Academy Award-winning film Spirited Away and other works like Ravel’s “La Valse.” Hisaishi sold out the Toronto Symphony Orchestra the last time he was in town in 2022, so don’t wait on this one.
