These parks around Toronto are hosting ‘Pumpkin Parades’ this week

It’s Halloween time, and as is tradition in our city, the Toronto Pumpkin Parades will take place on November 1st!

What’s a Pumpkin Parade, you ask?

Well, it’s a gourd thing you asked, because we’ve got pumpkin to talk about. Sorry, we’ll stop now.

On the evening after Halloween, the City invites all to bring their jack-o-lanterns to a participating park for one last hurrah of spooky season.

“Bring your best pumpkin carving creations to a participating Toronto park and cast a warm glow over the community,” the City says.

Communities will gather at their nearest parade to display their carved pumpkins and enjoy the illuminated display.

And for easy cleanup, the City will provide organic disposal bins to use after the event.

These bins will be collected and processed to create compost that can be used in City parks and gardens.

  4. McCormick Park
  5. Earlscourt Park
  6. Colonel Sam Smith Park

So, instead of letting your pumpkin whither away on your doorstep, give it the moment of fame it deserves.

Then, it will be used as nutrients for Toronto’s thriving green spaces.

If you’re going all out for Halloween in the city this year, then you don’t want to miss the legendary Halloween on Church street party taking place on the evening of October 31st.
