Let’s face it, Toronto — the final weeks of summer are upon us, and the city’s outdoor public pools are preparing to close up for the season.
The good news is that some pools will remain open a little bit longer than others, so if you’re hoping to get the most out of the outdoor swimming season, here’s what you need to know.
The City of Toronto has 58 outdoor pools and most will close for the season on Labour Day weekend, specifically on September 4 and September 5, 2022.

However, three outdoor pools — Amesbury Sports Complex, Donald D. Summerville, and Riverdale Park East — will remain open for an extra week and are set to close on September 11, 2022.
Toronto also has many splash pads and water play areas at its parks and playgrounds. These will remain open until September 18, 2022.
A handful of public pools will remain open for dog-only swimming on their final day of operation. You can find the details about dog-only swimming hours on the City’s website.
You can also check online for specific notices related to your local pool and splash pads.
It feels like it was just yesterday that the pools opened up for the season, but alas, we’re used to short and sweet summers here in Toronto.
