Our favourite Bavarian bash is finally making a comeback! Toronto Oktoberfest will return to the city after two long years this fall, just in time for its 10th anniversary.
“Dust off your lederhosen and dirndls and join us for two days of authentic German and European beer, non-stop entertainment, authentic Oktoberfest eats, an unbeatable atmosphere.. and maybe even a few new friends,” the description says.
The beloved fall festival will transform Ontario Place into a Bavarian Village, featuring communal tables and benches direct from Germany.

The fun will also take place inside a massive Festhalle tent, with a mix of traditional and modern elements to make it authentic and exciting.
In addition to Bavarian eats and sips of all kinds, festival-goers will get to enjoy ERDINGER’s Oktoberfest Brew, specially brewed for the fall season.
Attendees are encouraged to wear something traditional and if you arrive early enough, you can buy an outfit at the festival while quantities last.
There are a few ground rules you should know before you go, according to Oktoberfest’s website.
The rules are to “introduce yourself to strangers,” “compliment your tablemates and take care of your friends (old and new),” and most importantly “eat, drink, sing, mingle, dance and attempt to speak German.”

And there will be plenty of entertainment to enjoy too, including the popular Fräulein E cabaret show, traditional Bavarian dancers, and competitions.

All of this being said, you can probably assume that this event will sell out fast. Early bird tickets are available until August 31, so you better get yours while you can!
