Two Toronto Michelin Star chefs have teamed up for a one-of-a-kind, exclusive multi-course dinner experience.

Alo Restaurant’s founder and chef Patrick Kriss, and Aburi Hana’s chef Ryusuke Nakagawa have teamed up to create an elegant dining experience featuring contemporary French and modern Kyō-Kaiseki fusion cuisine.

“We’re excited to collaborate with the talented team at Aburi Hana and look forward to welcoming our guests,” said Chef Patrick Kriss.

The event will take place on January 29th and 30th, at Alo Restaurant and Aburi Hana, respectively. Though reservation for the first collaboration dinner is sold out, you can still have a chance to try the experience the next day as reservations open to the public on January 10th at 4 PM.

“I remember visiting Alo four years ago not too long after I moved to Canada and I barely spoke English,” said Chef Ryusuke Nakagawa. “I was extremely impressed by Patrick’s cooking. Since then, I have followed in his footsteps as a chef. He and his skills have had a big influence on me. Cooking with him has been a goal of mine. It is a dream come true.”

The multi-course experience will feature two canapes, four savoury courses, one dessert, and two petit fours, each accompanied by pairings by Alo’s wine director, Christopher Sealy, and Aburi Hana’s sake director, Amy Lee.

The powerhouse collaboration comes after both chefs earned Michelin stars back in 2022 and 2023. Aburi Hana earned a Michelin Star and so have Alo and Alobar. And if you didn’t know, Chef Kriss is the only Toronto chef to receive Michelin Stars for two of his restaurants and also saw Alder make the list of Michelin-recommended restaurants in 2023.

As for the cost of the dining experience, it’ll come to $625 per person.

Reservations for the second collaboration dinner will be hosted at Aburi Hana, 102 Yorkville Ave, and can be reserved online.
